Springfield, Missouri-  The Lady Patriots mustered just three hits the entire day against the Lady Owls of William Woods University.  In the opener, WWU scored a single run in the top of the third inning to lead 1-0.  The Lady Patriots were able to counter that with a monster home run to left center field by Macie Vestal in the bottom half of the third inning.  Unfortunately, the Lady Owls had a two-run homer in the top half of the fourth inning, then added an insurance run in the seventh inning before closing the door on a one-hitter.

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Lady Owls pounced on the Lady Patriots for three runs on four hits in the top of the first inning and never looked back on their way to an 8-0 win.  WWU had a big third inning when they put five more runs up on the scoreboard to lead 8-0.  The only threat the Lady Patriots had took place in the second inning when they had a walk and a single, but a double play ended that rally.
