Springfield, Missouri- The Patriots continued to be the first on the score board in the opening inning as
Landry Delgado picked up a walk, then advanced on a passed ball by the WWU catcher.
Sam Golden grounded out, but moved the runner to third base with 2 outs.
Haden Parton then came through with an RBI single to right center. The next scoring came in the top half of the fifth inning when Delgado got things going with a single up the middle. Golden doubled down the left field line to place runners at second and third. WWU made a pitching change. Parton reached on a fielder's choice and the runners did not advance leaving the bases loaded.
Drew Wheeler lifted a nice RBI single past the infield to left to score Delgado. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Owls plated three runs to take a 3-2 lead. In the sixth inning,
Trenton Viviano came into pitch for the Patriots and blanked the Owls to give BBC one more opportunity in the next half inning. Parton started the seventh inning off after one out, by reaching base on an error on a newly placed into the game, first baseman. D. Wheeler then hit a line drive double down the leftfield line to tie the game, scoring Parton (3-3). Kam Grant, one of the hitting heroes of the first game of the day, then ripped an RBI double to drive in the go-ahead run, D. Wheeler. Now with the lead, 4-3,
Tate Wheeler was brought in to try to end the game in the bottom of the seventh inning. T. Wheeler collected the save for Viviano's win, as he struck out the side.
