Final score- William Woods University 3, Baptist Bible College 2
Location- WWU (Owls Field) Fulton, Missouri
Springfield, Missouri- The Patriots received good pitching and hit some, but dropped a close one, 3-2, to the Owls of William Woods University. It all started off well in the first inning.
Tate Wheeler walked, then
Landry Delgado singled to left advancing T. Wheeler to second base. It was station-to-station as
Sam Golden singled to right to load the bases. After two Patriots made outs, Kam Grant walked in the first run, but unfortunately the Patriots could not capitalize more while leaving the bases loaded. No one scored until the fifth inning when the Patriots tallied again. T. Wheeler singled to right. A batter later, T. Wheeler stole second base. Golden walked. T. Wheeler then stole third base.
Dylan Blehm then knocked in T. Wheeler with a single to right field causing the Owls to switch pitchers. Once again, however, that would be all the Patriots were able to do. The Owls struck back hard in the bottom of the fifth inning. A double, single, then a single, followed by a second double, plated three runs allowing William Woods to take a 3-2 lead. Neither squad was able to mount another serious scoring threat as the Patriots dropped a close game.
